Panama Boquete
Casa Ruiz is one of the most esteemed farms and producers of coffee in Panama. For nearly 100 years, the Ruiz family has been growing and processing coffee. Today, the Ruiz family still oversees the operation of their farms, mills and roasterie. In 2001, Casa Ruiz won the best coffee in the world award — the first Panama coffee producer to do so.
Casa Ruiz creates their Floreal blend using the coffee from many small farms from the Boquete region.
The Boquete Valley is one of the world’s most ideal places to grow coffee. During part of the year, the wind blows mist off the Caribbean into the Boquete Valley; at other times, torrential rains come off the Pacific. These conditions create a perfect environment for producing exquisite coffee.
Preparation
Grind your coffee as close to brewing as possible. Match the grind of coffee to your brewing method. We recommend using 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for 6 ounces of water. Adjust the amount of water or coffee to achieve your desired strength.
Certifications
Both coffees were given as a Thankyou gift for hosting the extended Family get-together. They are both big coffee drinkers. This is the second year I’ve done this. I intend to do the same in future years. There coffees werenot served during the actual gathering but intended as a ThankYou to the couple. I asked and they really enjoyed both coffees this year as well as last year.
Now I just have to remember what I have already given them so I can gift a couple of different next Thanksgiving .
Thanks
Bob
We were so disappointed. We have been drinking medium roast Boquete coffee for years but our regular previous supplier ran out so we tried this. It tasted burnt, like a dark roast, not medium. We ground it fresh and made espresso as usual. We can′t drink it, as we find it too burnt to swallow. I realise these things are a matter of taste but this definitely doesn′t taste like any medium I′ve ever had. I′ve had many medium roast Boquete beans from sources other than our regular.
Shipped in timely fashion , not so communication on order.
The acid made it quite citrus for me. I prefer a more mellow coffee.
We usually prefer a dark roast, but this coffee has a very rich flavor for a medium roast. Complex flavor with a sweet finish.
